A brand new iceberg! Just after a glacier calving, Neko Harbor, Antarctica.
SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES
When this picture was taken, in February 2016, there had just been a good-sized glacier calving. There were several new icebergs in the bay, this is one of them.
All of the Antarctic Peninsula is stunning, but Neko Harbor was my favorite place. Calving glaciers, the constant crackle of the living ice moving in real time, penguins running around the shore, whales swimming under my kayak... it was as close as I've ever been to an Earthly Paradise.
