Hanbury Gardens, Italy / Window to the Mediterranean
The patterns and glow of the winter afternoons's sunlight defining this little pavillion brought out all the human artistry that was framing the beauty of the sea -- like a window onto freedom! This is just one small detail in the Hanbury Gardens (Giardini Hanbury) situated along a hillside above the Mediterranean. Hanbury Gardens is next to Ventimiglia, across the border from Menton, France. In winter, hardly anyone is there, and it is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the extensive gardens with their seaside view.

I have seen this exact photo on Flickr before.

there it was, gone!
So, try and imagine how inspired I was, and what an great comment I wrote.
I do love how the vast expanse gets the smallest part of the frame, and vastness is inferred.
