'Ice Spike'
Found this in my bird bath this morning and was puzzled to how it happened!
On BBC local Weather this evening someone had sent in a very similar photograph which is apparently known as an ice spike which is apparently caused by the rapid freezing of water in a container and the water being forced up through a small hole in the surface ice which then itself freezes - amazing and I have never seen this before!

'Teal' or is it?
Sat 'keywording' some old photo's tonight and found this one and would welcome any advice on identiication.
I thought it was an immature Teal but I'm not so sure now because of the white eye-stripe, could it be a Garganey?
