Active Assignment Weekly for the week of March 31 to April 6, 2009: Trite But True, Sometimes Cryptic, Pithy Sayings
WIT: I took a birthday candle and carved a tip on the bottom end then poked a toothpick into the middle of the candle. I then stuck the toothpick/candle into a standing piece of black foamcore. The next step was to set up the camera on the tripod and get ready to turn off the lights. The camera was positioned so that the candle blocked the toothpick from showing. I thought the original needed a bit more character so I added two texture layers in PSE4. I used the eraser tool to remove the texture from the flame and candle portion of the image. The image was then cropped and sharpened a bit before uploading.

I really like the little drip of wax forming on the right side. I also really like the way the candle almost glows from the inside. Nice job!
