Voracious - My most popular FLICKR image (without bare young skin!)
Originally uploaded on 7/31/06. Four tiny baby birds -- species unknown -- were rescued by a tenant in my building. When the cloth covering the box the birds were in was removed, the tiny creatures went into an all out "feed me!" mode... 8/1/06 update: nourished by the rescuer, the birds still live... 8/2/06 still with us... 8/3/06 birds eating and doing well... 8/6/06 They now have feathers... Pictures tomorrow.. (8/8/06) View the new images and get the rest of the happy story in the set...
Added to the Cream of the Crop pool as most favorited.
(For critical masses) Frankly, when I was first shown these tiny creatures, I just grabbed my camera and starting snapping away. In "post production" my aim was to showcase the raw vitality of this life around the geometry of the four open bills.

Neat. You can't tell what it is at first. They actually look a bit scary -- I guess this is what the worm feels. COMMENTSCOMMENTSCOMMENTS "

As of the end of today, the birds were surviving under the care of the woman who found them. We still are uncertain of the species...
