Julia Lennon (John's mum) used to be an usherette here, when it was the Trocadero.

Projection equipment at the Gaumont, Camden Street was Kalee 21 with Duosonic sound. A President carbon arc provided the light. For many years, one of the projectionists' was the late Des McGreal. He moved to the Odeon after the cinema's closure. Former Odeon projectionist Mike Taylor recalls the 70mm equipment from the Odeon, London Road, being moved over to the Gaumont for the screening of 'Star', and then being moved back to the Odeon. There was a lot of work, said Mike, and the film was taken off early, due to poor attendances.
