ipod is still a fashion icon though
I’ve prepared a website to help guide you get a free iPod nano with the minimal amount of hassle and without getting tricked. I have it on my university website: qlink.queensu.ca/~4ama2/freeIPod

      Cheers ;-)

What kind of scriptage are you using to Transcode? I've just finished a MythTV installation and am not having much luck with the mythtranscode & mencoder combination...

I've been using nuvexport, part of the mythtv package. Others on the list say mencoder is faster, though.

Darn. That's masked for the 64 bit platforms. I'll have to find another way. Congrats on the Mobile Video solution though.

I finally got nuvexport to for amd64! 2.5 hours to translate one 1.4GB nuv file to a 400MB AVI file at full framerate and size.

And they say processors were fast enough for desktop computing. Still photos may have provided motivation for large storage advances in the late 90's, early 00's, but moving pictures will be the killer application medium for processor and network advances for years to come.

I'm awaiting the AMD nanotech quantum Opteron to allow this process to take 30 seconds and my 50Mbps FTTP fiber connection to put it anywhere I am in 6 seconds flat.

      Rock on dude, rock on!

Sooo, did mythtranscode automatically downsample and re-encode that video for you once it was done recording? Please say yes.

I see some scripting for the future. If the SD Card in the reader in my mythbackend can be mounted, it will move over any freshly encoded TV shows and unmount. That way, I'd just pick up that card on the way out of the house and watch Smallville on the train.

      Like I said... Rock on.

I used nuvexport rather than setting the transcoding properties that way, but it could work through mythtranscode. For scripting, myth2ipod is one starting point.

I used to do the same thing with Conan Obrien onto my Sony Clie back in high school. Gotta love technology!
