Lace Shop
Per Hilda our tour guide, there are no more lacemakers in Bruges. The last lacemaker stopped about a year ago. Now all the handmade lace comes from China. Apparently, it is 8 years of training to become an professional lace maker in Belgium and modern woman are not willing to make that commitment now that other opportunities are open to them. Perhaps it will have a resurgence as a hobby instead.

I was just there in May, bought myself 6 pieces of lace, it is just beautiful. Brugee is great! We go there every time we go to Europe!
