In the grounds of Croft Castle

An excellent caff in Penybont, where you should go. The cheese scones are to die for. And it's right by the river.

I was in the Green Cafe, sitting in the window seat overlooking the mill race when this little chap turned up and started checking the mill race for fish. He (she?) didn't have any luck, but stuck around long enough for my lunch to be disrupted by people leaning over me to get a look. Ah well, it was worth it. Closest I've ever been to a kingfisher. This was taken with the Sony R-1 lens on full zoom - about 120mm in 35mm terms. The kingfisher was about 4 metres away.

Another lovely day at the excellent Green Cafe, by the river in Ludlow.Taken early in the morning just after opening time, hence the lack of folk.

The first bridge ever made out of iron, in Coalbrookdale, Shropshire, UK. Where the Industrial Revolution started. Well worth a visit if you're ever in the neighbourhood. Or, indeed, in the UK...
