My husband branding cattle for a neighbor

    From 1978 to 1984 my husband and I operated a ranch near the little town of Crane, Oregon. Although we raised alfalfa hay and wheat, our neighbors had cattle ranches and would invite the surrounding ranchers over to help with fall branding. Afterwards we all enjoyed a pit barbeque of roast lamb which was delicious and my very first taste of lamb.
