   damn, except for the black spot on his chin, he looks almost EXACTLY like Alex -- very similar expression & size, as well as markings. I miss him!

    The black spot on his chin (or his 'goatee' as I prefer to call it) is one of the reasons I named him Jack.

    Although Jack Kerouac was 'clean shaven' in real life, his work reflected a generation who personified the goatee: the Beatniks.

    Jack Kennedy, Jack Kerouac, and Jack Nicholson -- each personified a different definition of 'cool'.

    That is why I named him Jack. That plus the name Philip (which was his name when he was given to me) just didn't have that same panache.

    Jack SOOOO suits him - And I get the "wrong name thing" - all of the amazing cat rescue folks rescue so many they don't have time to absorb a cat's REAL name - like Quincy was named Pecan Pie - hahahahahahahaahahahaha and Quincy is just SO Quincy, NO other name would do. Pecan Pie was just SO NOT it!

    I'm not a big "cat photo" person but this one has me converted. Great black and red combo. Did you paint the room to complement the cat's colours? ;-)

    Thanks for the compliment on the photo. I did paint the room red, but it wasn't just to provide a colourful backdrop.

    Jack bares an uncanny resemblance to our late friend JoJo. I love the red backdrop. He was just meant to be in this room.
