      the monks and the lanterns are much sharper than mine. Beautiful shot! it's powerful! bravo 2.8. u used 16-35 or 24-70?

      My position was 3 steps below yours, originally I mounted 16-35 but didn't get the frame I wanted, So I made the shot with 24-70mm

      This is an amazing festival in Thailand. It starts in the morning with ceremonies and cultural performances. After mid-day they meditate and pray (I don't speak Thai, but I believe the prayers were for human kindness and world peace). The lanterns were released after sunset, which symbolize sending the prayers to heaven. At this place they released 12,000 lanterns!!

      @raffael, no fire were reported, but they stopped the air traffic for about 4 hours.
      @i.satang, Thailand is so beautiful and colorful, I will be back this December for the King's birthday celebration.

      I remember when we lived there in 2005, for 3 nights I felt like I was living in a film set. And during the day all the schools in our district were filled with student projects making giant hot air balloons. Was a truly spectacular time. I never got a shot anywhere even close to yours - it is stunning. Thanks for the memories.
