THEME #30 SOMEONE WHO MAKES ME HAPPY

Larry and I took off for Wildwood as soon as he got home from work Friday night.
The sun set behind us as we headed down the Atlantic City Expressway, and I haven't seen it since.
I had my alarm set for 40 minutes before sunrise this a.m., but it wasn't happening.
The clouds had moved in overnight, and it's looked like it's going to rain any minute for most of today.
That's okay I guess. I would have been too tempted to head out with the Canon otherwise. I did take a little cruise to check on Martha and George and how they were making out, but mostly I've been busy working in the apt.

Martha is still sitting on the eggs, and George is keeping watch close by.
When I got out of the car Martha sounded the alarm, and George left his nearby perch to circle me a couple of times and give me a warning.

a couple of long-billed dowitchers were hanging out underneath the ospreys nest.
The wildlife expert on the nature cruise we took last year said that many of these small shore birds will deliberately hang out underneath the osprey nest, because the osprey offer extra protection from predators. Smart birds! Whose going to mess with one of the biggest bird of prey in the States?
