this is another photo taken by alison's dad.

you can keep your fancy schmancy digital cameras -- give me kodachrome any day of the week -- incredible depth and color - just amazing to see the slides...

when i got my very first camera, i shot kodachrome / agfachrome for several years before i used any other film - the best way to teach someone about proper exposure - shooting slides... i miss those days...

alison & jane

alison & jane

i've been working on a project for the last few years -- scanning a book full of WONDERFUL slides, mostly taken by alison's dad...

that's alison in the foreground (mae's mama!) and her sister, jane...

i'd say most of the slides were shot with kodachrome -- and every time i scan one, my heart beats faster - there's just nothing like kodachrome. nothing. the depth. the color - just amazing.

i'll share a few with you from time to time... it's such a pleasure seeing alison and her family through the years - and through such amazing photos...

a special thanks to my father-in-law for entrusting me with the family keepsakes...

drearyday

drearyday

i'm really disappointed with this winter season -- no snow to speak of - no storms -- no howling winds -- just dreary, crappy, rainy days for the most part. if i wanted that kind of weather, i would have moved to vancouver!

there's hope - spring is still 3 weeks away -- bring on the snow! just ONE big snow storm is all i ask for...

in other news: i finally got my camera back (for the SECOND time) - the view finder was wonky - the frame lines were skewed big time. the technician thought it was just ME -- until he got the camera. the lines were off big time -- and focus was still off just a smidgen. so i took it out for a quick spin in the DREARY ass weather today -- and i have to say they did an excellent job all around...

now -- i just need some wicked crazy snow storm to make a few nice wintery photos before spring rolls in...

sigh...
