Stumpy ... an artifact with a backstory,

Stumpy ... an artifact with a backstory,

and now was "available".
Stumpy came to me from some folks who had wanted me to craft a proper display stand.
Museum Quality.
Black Base.
Make that GLOSSY Black - like a Piano, glossy powder-coated steel black.
And, make the stand support the artifact from below please...as minimally as possible,
just like at The Art Institute of Chicago.
OK, OK. OK.

So when the estimate came in priced higher than they felt the value of Stumpy was worth-
they asked if I would just "keep him".

And, now- he can be yours......for the right price!

Abdul aka "Albert"-The Waiter

Abdul aka "Albert"-The Waiter

Albert/Abdul has been a waiter at a series of Middle Eastern Restaurants in Chicago,
AND - he always seems to show up- when I least expect him.

Originally we made his company at Salam on Kedize in Chicago's Albany Park neighborhood.

We "loved" Abdul. He would tell jokes.
He could talk in various accents- including Eubonics!
His Spanish was so good that he could take orders, etc "en Espanol"!
He always remembered our favorite extra Hot Sauce....and "Toum" the lovely Garlic
dip made in The Leviathan region...
Suddenly- he was gone.
Then- he "surfaced" again at Dawali Restaurant - 4911 N. Kedzie-
a wonderful restaurant started by Chef Nasser Amer, a Kendal Culinary School Graduate,
who's knowledge of Food, Food History, and execution is unparalleled- PERIOD.
and we enjoyed seeing Abdul when we were there.

Again- he suddenly was gone.
Back to The South Side we were told.
One day- I happened to be in the burbs- at a small dive place I spotted on Cumberland Avenue out near O'Hare-
and whaddya know- Abdul's there @ Bab a Salam!
Never went back there cause the food was sub-par. (Cold Falafel and grainy Shwarma to say the least.....)
and,
now- "full-circle" Abdul's back at the newly renovated Salam!

And now- he's famous!
