This is a photograph of a group of crocuses, (Crocus longiflorus.) This photograph was taken in Wirksworth, Derbyshire, England.

In front of our house lies a small orchard, bearing fruits of apples, plums and much more. I was interested, however, in the new crocuses. They are one of my favourite plant species, one day there not there, the next they are. It was a bright morning and the grass was covered in morning dew, leaving beautiful sparkling bokeh in my pictures. I was using an old manual 50mm prime lens, which I was not used to, but I chose because of its great macro capabilities. I was worried that the lens would not be to sharp, but I needn’t of. I was rewarded with a beautiful picture which for me, shows us what spring is all about.
