I've recently been contacted by someone who is conducting a research project about social media led art projects. If you have been following my project 'what cannot be seen', or have taken part in it, it would be great if you could complete her online survey, www.surveymonkey.com/s/87RV57P. Thank you!

This is an ongoing postal photography project. I mail matchbox pinhole cameras loaded with photographic paper to participants, inviting them to photograph 'what cannot be seen'. The cameras are then returned to me to be processed, accompanied by an explanation of what the participant has photographed.

"This picture was taken inside a brothel. While it is beyond my knowledge if these women are victims of human trafficking, I find it difficult to believe that some or most of them chose to be there. The exposure time was more than 20 minutes, and I have mixed feelings about the quality of the film development.

I hope that we were only able to catch a good glimpse of the venue and the shadows of the people in it. Whether over or underexposed, this can be seen as a representation or symbol of their integrity and dignity.

Lastly, and outside the scope of the pinhole but not of the project, is the person that joined me this particular night. I wish you well in your new life, for giving me alternatives to impossibility."

"This is an image of the Liguica Church in Timor-Leste. What cannot be seen in this photograph is the massacre of approximately 60 persons, which took place at the church on 6 April 1999, committed by members of a militia group.

Accounts of the massacre have been told and retold many times but what has not been seen (yet) is justice for what had happened."

"The picture is of me in a garden, a place of plants, foods and life that I love to be in. What cannot be seen is the fight I have waged within me against cancer over the last year, a beast that wants to take me away from all that I love.

But it is a fight that I am winning, and I intend to win to the last as I want to spend a lot more time in my garden with the ones I love."
