He has no time loneliness is a stinger in his mind.
A mind with two hearts, each with two parts, all of which ache for a wife.
He bears it in his chest heaven's no place for a lonely man to rest.
With no children abreast, no peace to taste, happiness has no face.
A bow with Methodist plans that fail him by day, became the father of the man.
Who lives with no light, hid by the night, poisoned by hope with vacant eyes.

With these hearts so loud their beating's heard,
like the wings of a trapped injured bird.
Dear lonely man the reason you are stunned,
you're born to a town that always eats it's young.
And the more you love a lie it's coming true,
your burning up your mind thinking it through.
With a pious patience please wait for that wife,
by winter's end you may come back to life.

heaven's no place

From Downtown!

From Downtown!

Haven't taken anything new in awhile. This was on 2/19, the Rockets won 101-85.

The policy for NBA games at Toyota Center is you can't bring in a lens that is longer than 4 inches, so I shot everything with my 50mm. It did fine, but I sure would have liked to have been able to get a better zoom in there!

This is Michael.

Yesterday afternoon, I was in downtown shooting a couple of shots like this one. Maybe I will post one or two more later, I'm not sure yet. Anyways, while I was getting ready for a shot, Michael came by and asked if I could give him some money. Well, I never have any cash with me, so then he asked if he could borrow my credit card to buy some cigarettes. I told him I wouldn't buy cigarettes, but I would buy him some food if he wanted. So we walked maybe a block or two to a Subway that was close by (which was cool because I really love Subway) and I bought him a sandwich and a drink. Then we walked another couple of blocks back. All together, it was maybe 15 or 20 minutes.

During the walk back, I asked him if he would be alright if I prayed for him later. He responded by saying, 'Oh yeah, I need all the prayer I can get'...or something like that. I asked what specifically I could be praying for, and his response and his requests were so great- so genuine and heartfelt. You know, I can never tell for sure. Maybe he was just saying all this to try to get more money. Maybe he was making stuff up and being fake. But maybe, just maybe, he didn't mind sharing honestly with someone he had just met. Maybe his requests had nothing to do with impressing anybody or looking good and spiritual. Maybe it was just a simple sharing of the things that were weighing heavily on his heart. His needs. His wants. His desires.

Oh, and he also said that today was his 42nd birthday.

Happy Birthday Michael.
I will be praying for the things that you shared.
