Pu'uhonua o Honaunau
Also known as 2 Step, for the easy entrance into the ocean. The flooded lava rock lower right is the "step". One of the more popular snorkel and dive sites on the Big Island, and one you can count on for safe entry and exit when the surf's up.
No beach or facilities, but this place can get packed - shoot from this position mid day and you could easily count upwards of 100 people in the water.
The plan was to arrive late, do a long leisurely dive in the bay, and maybe get lucky with a sunset pic. Bonus was a fat, five foot white tip reef shark we spooked in a cave off the point.
