Bear Country USA, Black Hills South Dakota

Tank is one of two Grizzly Bears that resides at Bear Country USA. Both bears are experts at "working" the crowd and are very entertaining to watch.

Each spring Bear Country opens the park to the public so they can see the new bear cubs. If you're in the area it's a fun way to spend an afternoon.

Sun God

Sun God

Crazy Horse Monument, Western South Dakota

The first part of June each year the Crazy Horse Memorial hosts a 10k Volksmarch. This is the only time of the year that the public is allowed on the monument. Usually the top of the monument is crowed, which makes it difficult to set up a tripod. On this occasion we arrived twords the end of the day, and were fortunate to have the monument to ourselves.

Tampa Reflected

Tampa Reflected

Tampa Florida

This image is one of those “happy” accidents. I was on a business trip and getting ready to fly out the following morning when I decided that I should make a run to downtown Tampa to get a few shots. When I left the hotel I intentionally left my tripod, because “I knew what I wanted to do”. Famous words! Well of course I needed my tripod. What works better than a tripod? Right, right the top of your rental car. After I had taken the necessary exposures and reviewed them on the camera I discovered the nice reflection in the top of the car. So of course I set out to improve the shot. Try as I might I couldn’t get the reflection on the top of the car to play nice.

River Walk Bridge

River Walk Bridge

The River Walk, San Antonio Texas

The family had flown to San Antonio to attend my nephew’s graduation from Air Force basic training, which happen to fall on Easter weekend. The night before we flew my wife and me decided to go out and get a few last minute shots. The River Walk was literally a ghost town. Other than just a handful of folks we had the River Walk to ourselves.
