DP World Southampton is the second largest container terminal in the UK and is operated as a joint venture between DP World (51%) and Associated British Ports (49%).

The terminal lies on the South coast of the UK and is an ideal location as the first or last European port of call, with minimal deviation from shipping lanes and easy access to the major UK consumer markets. The terminal is also well protected from prevailing winds with very little impact from the weather compared with other UK ports.

Covering a site of 88 ha, the terminal operates four deep water berths and one short-sea berth.The four deep water berths, 204 to 207, can accommodate vessels up to 370m length overall.

DP World Southampton has recently finished a programme of civil works to extend the wider gauge crane rail to the end of berth 204, which will enable the Liebherr super post-panamax cranes to operate along 80% of the terminal’s deep water quay.
