HDR Image

Photoshop CS5, this will work in Photoshop Elements as well. Pick an image with a very low horizon.

Uncheck Constrained Proportions
Make Length and Width the same, box shape.
Rotate image 180 degrees
Select Filter, Distort, Polar Coordinates
Select "Rectangular to Polar" Select OK

Use the Clone Stamp Tool and Spot Healing Brush Tool to finish the image.

Added Star Effect to the Sun

Image taken in Pooler Georgia at The Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum. Very impressive to see the rich history and what our Armed Forces did for us to preserve our freedom, many gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Spent the morning in Pooler Georgia touring The Mighty 8th Air Force Museum - B-17 Restoration Project. More information can be found HERE Awesome place, the restoration process was underway as we walked around the B-17.

Converted to Black and White inside Photoshop Elements. I am using Matt Kloskowski's Elements conversion process.

Port Royal South Carolina

This is a handheld HDR image, Black and White conversion was handled using OnOne Effect, Snappy Warm preset.

CLICK ON IMAGE TO VIEW LARGER ON BLACK

These tired old looking boats bring South Carolina some of the finest shrimp to touch the taste buds. I am still amazed at those pelicans, standing watch atop all the masts.
