This evening I was surprised when my husband announced we were going out on a 'date night'. He had arranged for a friend of ours to babysit for the evening so we could go out which is a rarity these days!

We went to Nandos where we had our first date and then went bowling and had a drink before going home. It was a lovely evening.

When we got home our friends boyfriend had arrived with their puggle pup Ernie. Ernie is super gorgeous although very full of beans so getting him to sit still for a photograph was quite difficult. I loved this shot I managed to get of him and decided it would be my photo for today.

24 / 366 - First Bokeh

Today I decided to try my hand at a bit of bokeh. I've never done it before but have seen lots of great pictures using this effect.

I decided to try using a lamp we have in our lounge that has lots of tiny bulbs on flexible stalks. Not sure if I've got the effect right but for a first attempt I'm moderately happy with it.

We had another visitor to our garden today. I wondered what was going on when I heard our cat Spoogie hissing and making a right old noise by the cat flap in the kitchen. When I went to investigate I saw this tabby cat sat in the back garden not far form the cat flap.

I've seen this cat in our neighbourhood before, he is a timid chap but he sat still long enough for me to get a shot - even if I did have to stick the lens out of the cat flap!

Not much going on today. We were meant to be going away for the weekend but Jack was full of cold so we decided it was better to stay at home.

As I was looking after our porly boy for most of the day I didn't get a chance to get out with the camera. Jack shocked us both by picking up his daddys cup and drinking the little bit of tea in the bottom so I couldn't resist getting a shot of him in action. Shortly afterwards when he realised I'd got the camera out he turned and gave me a little smirk as if to say "look what I just did"

One of my favourite passtimes for a Sunday morning is to take a wander around the local car boot sale.

I love seeking out treasure and tend to buy things like unusual jewellery and accessories like scarves. I spotted this silver brooch on a recent visit and snapped it up for 50p. Sometimes you just see a complete load of junk but thats the beauty of the booty.
