I love how all of the fallen leaves look like a beautiful mosaic of colour on top of the ornamental lake.
I am so in love with this place!!!

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!!!!

~ Ginkgo Magic

~ Ginkgo Magic

Alfred Nicholas Gardens is one of those places where you can visit 100 times over, and still discover something special each and every time that you are there.

Every season offers something completely different to enjoy and appreciate, but Autumn in my opinion is when it is at its most stunning. Its a canopy of Liquid Ambers, Maples, Ginkgos, Mountain Ash trees, pure and clean mountain air. BEAUTIFUL!!!!

These yellow leaves belong to the Ginkgo Tree, which is known as a living fossil. It is one of the very few living plants which were once wide spread across the world, at a time when dinosaurs roamed the earth some 125-220 million years ago.

It only takes somewhere between 1 - 15 days before the trees have lost all of their beautiful yellow leaves. Even whilst standing there, I was amazed that so many still remained on the trees, as it was constantly raining yellow. It was very pretty!!!

~ A recipe for love, appreciation and adoration. Happy Mothers Day!

~ A recipe for love, appreciation and adoration. Happy Mothers Day!

I've been dying to have a go at making pineapple flowers for a long time now, and when I decided to make a Hummingbird Cake for a Mothers Day afternoon tea, I thought they would make the perfect garnish :)
Dont they remind you a little bit of a hibiscus flower? Kinda pretty I think....and they tasted pretty good too!!! (well worth the 4 hours it took to make them!)

To all of the Mothers out there, I hope that your mothers day was a special one!
