Moonshot (test)

Moonshot (test)

Very briefly the skies opened up though it was extremely windy.

I don't have the cable release yet, so I had to manually release, on top of that the telescope was mounted on my tripod, not the most stable platform, the howling winds also introduced vibrations.

Still, if I can figure out the metering then I could see myself getting some really nice shots.

Yep, shot from across the Bay. That's what a telescope gives you :)

Ghetto mounting the refractor.

Ghetto mounting the refractor.

The top dovetail is to actually mount it correctly, but I attached a second, smaller one, on the other side to allow me to throw it on my tripod.

Motion of the Ocean

Motion of the Ocean

13 Second exposure with the scope braced against the window sill. I need to get longer screws to be able to mount the dove tail to the tripod plate.... Guess a trip to Home Depot is in order tomorrow.

I am also a bit.... curious about the yellow light streak, no idea where that came from.

1000mm

1000mm

Shot out of my bedroom window, 1000mm, not too bad, though the telescope was hard to hold steady by hand :)
