I found flood works well on this image because in the original photo the lower petal was a little underexposed. I used a flash and the diffusion was not quite adequate. Flood has compensated by bringing the light from the top into the bottom of the frame to balance things out.
This little iris lasted only a few days, but through the magic of photography, it will be around for much longer.
