Vancouverites, put a note on a landmark or where you live!
Sunset portrait of my Vancouver 'hood shot from the observation tower of the Harbor Centre. Yes, in Canada it is sometimes "re" not "er".
Dive into large or original for remarkable 14.7MP detail. You can read the names on the sides of the railcars. This is a three exposure HDR from RAW files. This is my first time making HDR from RAW. Previously I have always used bracketed JPEGs. Tonemapped in Photomatix 3.1.3, which handles .CR2 files natively.
This is the first light from the first camera I have purchased in my quest to be fully equipped. I needed one I could have with me all the time. Small yet capable. I went back and forth between the Lumix LX3 (a Leica D-LUX 4 when shooting in RAW) and the Canon G10. Check the EXIF for my choice.

Wow awesome, though I live in the other direction the west end so I cant add a note! lol
I've tried bracketing jpgs but never liked the result compared to bracketing RAW files.
I want to do more HDR! I have a couple but its normally the same stuff just on different days lol

Saw this first on my phone via Twitter a couple of days ago, so I didn't see the EXIF, but you mentioning CR2 files gave the game away. :-) Welcome as a Canon owner! :-) I'm sure the G10 will give you lots of excitement.
Shot looks fine!

Questa è una foto che dovrebbero vedere tutti coloro che dicono che 14,7 Mpx per la canon G10 sono troppi!

what a fantastic tour of the city, Evan! dang you are getting soooo good at these merges and such...
nice choice on that G10 from all I hear.. I almost got that but settled on the Rebel Xsi so I could have a DSLR, but I miss the flexibility of a P&S.

Love that other-worldliness that HDR brings out - really pops. Handy of them to have put the address on that Water St. building - gives a grounding for this unusual perspective.

...I used to live at 310 Water st. in a makeshift photo studio...facing the Steam Clock...I miss those days...and all their bohemian connotations.
...Remember the Andreas's Classical Joint Jazz Cafe opposite the Spinning Wheel Bar, and the Blarney Stone Bar...Earlier yet: the wonderful Aspidistra Restaurant facing the Europe Hotel...The scent or urine in every back alley...Bill's Confectionery Store and his children minding the shop while studying for school...The Kilimanjaro Restaurant and Amin Sunderjee, the proprietor...this photo....is so much...to me...
