On Saturday night, Kevin's friend Captain Darin invited us to be his guests on a three hour cruise on the Spirit of New Jersey.
We hung out with Darin in the Wheel Room, ate good food, saw beautiful NYC from the river - including fireworks and the Statue of Liberty waaaay up close (as close as he could get us without the Coast Guard comin' afer us!), and...well, had a super fun time!

To answer some questions...
- We were moving because of the waves, but Captain Darin had the boat pointed towards the statue and was holding it for a minute so I could take my photos! I was also told by Kevin that the boat doesn't usually go that close. I'm not sure.
- it was a big boat, so not as rocky as some.
- no HDR
- This was through a window
- 50mm lens (thanks, Lauren!) We were very close!
- I took about 20 photos - some were quite blurry. :)
