Yes, Thankfully the War Memorial has captured that space and saved it to let the light in for us all. Though the tram moved in quite close.

I wish the older buildings were still with us. So far as I remember the Musicians' Union was in a room above the Halle shop. I remember having to visit that office in the mid-1950s.
