This panorama of 10 shots was taken laying on my back in the front yard. The winds blew 80+ mph all day. Fun to watch. Destructive on so many levels. Trucks blown over, fires zipping across the roads, and a big hole in my house ;-(

I've been collecting antique photographs and postcards for 30 years. Most of them are from 1870's to the 1920's. For me, holding these pieces of history in my hands is remarkable. Keeping them in small suitcases, tucked away in a closet, seemed almost criminal. Finally, I found a way to share them. I make these small spiral bound notebooks; some with cardboard backing, others with fine hardwood veneers. I've given away lots, created a least a box full, and find myself making more while I watch movies.

My daughter thinks I make them to sell. Nope...I make them because I love seeing them, handling them, reading their 100+ year old hand written comments (that sound like a Facebook post from today) and watching the faces of friends when I give them as gifts. Another labor of love.
