I have been having the worst problem for the last few months during my search for recipes and inspirational photos in hopes of upgrading my bento making from crappy bento to mildly amusing bento. I keep running into the cutest, most artistic bento at various websites and communities online but, because I'm awful at bookmarking (I always manage to over-bookmark, never organize and therefore lose my destinations) I just don't bother. So, because I'm a disorganized dummy, I have a tendency to have to search for the same tings over and over or blog walk and try to retrace my steps.

I have the same problem with all bookmark-ables. What good are bookmarks if they're a hassle to use? I'm testing out a desktop bookmark application, a Chrome extension and I signed up at clipix to try and fix the problem and give my poor browser a break. So far it's Clipix that's working for me!

The very first thing I did was start a bento inspirational photo search, which was fruitful as it always is - you can see my first Clipix board with all the pretty bento!

I think I'm going to start using Clipix boards as categories for types of recipes, an example would be to have a Cookies board and clip every good cookie recipe to it that I come across. So far I'm loving it, I seriously recommend you try it if you haven't already. Sound off in the comments, what are you going to use your Clipix for?

Made my first ever re-fried beans! I basically just decided to try stuff until it worked instead of finding a decent recipe, but it turned out great!

We tried something a little different this year. We thought it would be fun to do something that's done in Japan these days, and that's Kentucky Fried Chicken for Christmas!

My sis and I had a rare and welcome Christmas alone, which meant parade and movies, lighting the Christmas tree and playing records - no family drama, how sweet is that? But we didn't want to have just your ordinary, everyday Christmas dinner. We decided to do it the KFC way, the way so many people celebrate in Japan.

Well, we can't get to a KFC and we don't know all the recipes, so we just had to find a recipe for corn salad and sort of wing it then buy the chicken and cake at Hy-Vee - here's how it's supposed to look:

Pretty close, huh? Okay, not exactly - but it was fun and tasty!

I've decided to start counting my bento all over again in an attempt to get back into the habit of blogging them - let's hope it sticks this time!

Baked chicken, broccoli and rice with stir fried peppers, sausage crabs and meatballs.

Okay, so maybe not Spa-Peggy and Meatballs, but definitely a delicious plate of spaghetti with some even more delicious meat sauce.

I can't stand Hunt's canned pasta sauce, there's just something too bitter about it. So I cooked up some spaghetti, browned some ground beef and added the pasta sauce + about 2 T of honey to round out the flavor. Worked like a charm - I do so love spaghetti!
