Practice! I make a pre focus guess as I spot the shot, lift and adjust very quickly to the best I can before the moment is gone.. moment first, focusing second in order of importance, so if I'm gonna miss it, then I just click anyway. A lot of my people shots I am actually moving too, which makes it even harder..
