Ethan Allen Tower

Ethan Allen Tower

This castle like tower overlooks Burlington's New North End. I was out in front of the tower for the evening with an unobstructed view of the sunset. After packing up and starting to head home I looked back to see this scene. Ohhh!

All feedback is very welcome - thank you for looking!

Exposure: 10 seconds 60 seconds

Processing in Photoshop CS5 for: Manual blending of two exposures. Selective adjustments using layer masks for contrast, clarity, levels, and saturation. In particular, the snow clarity was reduced to reduce the visual impact of the well trodden snow. Clone stamp to remove sensor spots in the sky and for a final snow clean up. Selective sharpening.

Niquette Bay

Niquette Bay

Walked out to Niquette Bay last week. It had been warm for a few days then very cold the night before I arrived, which resulted in this leaf impression. It also made for some very loud ice that morning - kept me jumping!

Thank you for the feedback on my recent Flickr post - it is much appreciated!

Thank you for looking.

Mountain Stream in Autumn

Mountain Stream in Autumn

I had processed this as a color image this autumn then decided to try processing it in black and white today. I've started printing on photo rag and I am really pleased with how the black and whites look. It's opened up a whole new world of possibilities.

If you have a moment, press "L" on your keypad to view in Lightbox.

Grafton Ponds

Went to Grafton Ponds with Brendan for the J2 and Easterns Nordic Qualifier. This image was taken in the morning before the racing began. Part of the race course is just off the left side of this image.

Winter Light - Lake Champlain

Winter Light - Lake Champlain

A narrow band of ice extended toward the west. Two hundred yards out, the ice and water were still mixing it up, making chirping sounds like tree toads in the spring.

Thank you for looking!
