Desde la galería norte del Patio de los Arrayanes y a través de un arco apuntado de mocárabes, accedemos a la sala de la Barca, cuyo nombre parece provenir de una degeneración del término árabe baraka, que significa bendición. A través de esta sala se accede al salón de Comares o del trono, donde el sultán se sentaba ocupando la parte central del lado norte de la sala y desde se contemplaba esta visión del patio Su construcción data del segundo tercio del siglo XIV, siendo sultán nazarí de Granada, Yusuf I, su función principal era celebrar las audiencias privadas del sultán.

From the north gallery of the Patio de los Arrayanes and through a stalactite arch, we enter the room "de la Barca", whose name seems to come from a degeneration of the Arabic baraka, which means blessing. Through this room is accessed or salon de Comares where the sultan's throne sat occupying the central part of the north side of the room and from this vision envisaged patio.
