...That’s how she sold them,
on the street corner as the sun was setting.
The flower vendors always left battered blossoms
behind at the end of each day, and she would gently
sweep them into her tattered apron.
For a penny, passersby could dip the old,
battered tin cup into the fragile fragments
and take home a cupful of beauty.
