Wow, $6.60 for a 3 minute call...in 1955 dollars...so what, about $20 today?

According to this inflation calculator, $6.60 in 1955 dollars would be $56.70 in today's money. Luckily, technological advancements allow a three minute call from Hawaii today to be a fraction of even the 1955 charge. Unless you're making the call through a hotel switchboard!
