We took the kids to "Maesa Elephant Camp" which is supposed to be "home to one of the largest assembly of elephants in the north of Thailand" (direct from their website).
The trainers had them do some amazing things, which included painting. This snap doesn't do justice to what these animals were doing - it was absolutely amazing the kind of stuff they were painting... definitely made us wonder what sort of rigorous training they had to endure to get to this level but it was pretty incredible nevertheless.
One of the trainers did later tell us that they train for about two months for painting and just like humans, some of them show more "gift" in painting than others, which was evident by seeing what type of painting each elephant produced.
