Look what I can do!

Look what I can do!

We took the kids to "Maesa Elephant Camp" which is supposed to be "home to one of the largest assembly of elephants in the north of Thailand" (direct from their website).

The trainers had them do some amazing things, which included painting. This snap doesn't do justice to what these animals were doing - it was absolutely amazing the kind of stuff they were painting... definitely made us wonder what sort of rigorous training they had to endure to get to this level but it was pretty incredible nevertheless.

One of the trainers did later tell us that they train for about two months for painting and just like humans, some of them show more "gift" in painting than others, which was evident by seeing what type of painting each elephant produced.

Many temples everywhere in Chiangmai. This temple is inside the city wall and was founded towards the end of the 14th century.

All aboard!

All aboard!

This is one of the taxis we rode around in during our time in Chiang Mai. It has no back door and can pick up more passengers along the way, charging about 20baht per person depending on how far you go. These were everywhere in Chiang Mai in addition to, of course, the tuk tuks.

I absolutely loved riding these!
