In my Architectural Photography course the instructor talked about depth and three-dimensionality, and how the only difference is in the distance between the photographer and the subject - lens focal length does not matter.
He demonstrated this with a few examples of photos where the same
building was photographed twice, once close up, and once from farther
away (then cropped), each using the same camera settings & focal
I tried a few quick exercises of this around the neighbourhood.
This is the "close" shot - has more depth.
