I love photography. I love learning and I love getting better. I'm not sure when my next post will be but I'll be back someday, guaranteed. Thanks to all my contacts who have stuck with me over the past couple years... I really appreciate the support and I certainly don't take you guys for granted!

Twilight

Twilight

Sunset fading to twilight at the Christian Science Center in Boston, MA. LARGE view is mandatory!

This really isn't a great shot... optical distortion is the one huge thing that kind of ruins the picture for me. Next time I'll do it the correct way and combine multiple exposures (via vertorama or panorama). I've never shot anything like this before, but I'd really like to learn more about landscape photography... I think I'll experiment with it for a little while.

Sorry for my two month long absence from Flickr. I've just been so busy watching TV and being lazy in general. Ha... well, I'm trying to get back in the groove here, just give it some time...

Technique:
A DRI made of two exposures and blended manually in CS5 (smart object method). The lamps on the right were shot at f/5 for 4 seconds to prevent star bursts and resulting flare; the rest of the image was shot at f/10 for 15 seconds. I visited on three separate occasions before I finally shot something I liked... you need a dead calm night to get reflections like this.

Thank you Miles and Chris for all your help and advice, it won't be forgotten! And another thanks to the Scherzer's for lending me a tripod for a few days!

I'm nothing special when it comes to B&W photography. Maybe the reason I feel so weird posting this is because I can't remember the last time I haven't relied on color to do the work for me... check the rest of my photostream if you don't believe me.
