      Thanks ksbukhari!

I appreciate the fave Paul! I'm glad you stopped by.

I am excited for you bsmith. I never dove the Philipine waters but I understand there many new species there to discover!

Hi D.C.! I'm lovin' your Normandy posts. You are right, I'll need to make the trip and 'visit some history.' The lighting on this one was kind of accidental. The strobe was aimed low, as I was hoping to bounce the flash up, but it seems I actually hit the bottom of the anemone with the strobe. It illuminated the semi-transparent creature to produce this pleasing effect.

Thanks for the visit, comment, and fave Annuska (or should I call you by that elvish name) ;-) The coral reef is the most colorful place I know, other than your flickr photostream!

Hi MdEST! I never had any of these as pets. That must have been interesting.

Greetings Ale! Thanks for the visit and fine comment my friend. Poor Nemo would have to be very lost. I shot this in the Caribbean, and there are no clownfish on 'our' side of the America's :-( The Nemo fish is a Pacific rascal... bsmith will be looking at these soon in the Philipines!

I'm much obliged Chris. These are the most common colors for this species, but they can vary. I have a fully pinkish-purple one somewhere in my Scuba set. It seems that there are many ways to light them. I'll have to experiment some...

I am grateful for the visit & fave mikijojo22! I am glad you enjoyed this lovely sea creature.

These are great shots... do you use film or digital for your underwater shots?

    10. laszlo-photo (69 months ago | reply)

Thanks Webfoot! The old fosssil that I am, I still shoot film, although I am about to enter the 21st century soon with a Canon digital SLR. I scan my slides to the digital world with a high res' film scanner. Thanks for the visit!

Exquisite, dear Laz! You've outdone yourself here--almost an overdose of beauty...
I liked it in the small version, but when I saw the medium size I flipped...love all those "tiger"stripes of opaque and transluscent on the "stalks"!!!

You've been eating too many McDonald fries Danny! I've never tasted a sea anemone before... hmmmm (taking notes)

Eva, you're so sweet! I like a gal that can handle a macro lens. I can't wait to see more!!!!

Why thank you Diedre! You're too kind. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I never cease to be amazed at the variety of colors and forms in nature...

I appreciate the kind comments Raja. I got a little bit lucky with the lighting on this subject. But since I know how it happened, I'll try it again when I get a chance.
BTW, I really enjoy your photostream.
