I'm glad you like it Paul. This one was from the Antilles!

Hey Judy! Thanks for the kindness and the Wikipedia link. I see they have not yet written the article on the Queen Angelfish. I think I know where they can find a picture. :-D

Jenny, you're too sweet! I see that your "spinecheek" is very popular on flickr!

Thank You Roger. Angelfish make such nice photography subjects because of their color, but unfortunately, they rarely sit still enough for you to compose the frame very well.

Hi Felipe! I think that you are saying, "This fish is such a pretty thing!!!! A hug for you!!! Is that right?? I want to visit Brazil... maybe Foz de Iguaçu. It is a beautiful country and the people are so nice!! Dois abraços pra você!

I'm much obliged N Knee Deep! You may have visited this very one when you were in Bonaire :-)

Thanks Anikó - almost as spectacular as your frog. :-D

Woah! Such great colors (as usual)...you mean you have to travel to the Netherlands to shoot these? None in Lake Erie?! ;)

    13. Fanny Reno (71 months ago | reply)

      catchy colors, perfect crop.
What type of camera did you use ?

    14. laszlo-photo (71 months ago | reply)

Thanks Michael. The only way you'd find one of these in Lake Erie now is if an aquarium was swept in during the Grand River flood! :-D

Hi ~Steph~! This was shot on 35mm film using an old Canon Rebel II inside an Ikelite acrylic SLR housing with dome style port. I used a 35-80mm zoom lens with added B+W +4.0 diopter. The exposure was set at f/5.6 using a 100 Watt·sec strobe on TTL with synch speed 1/90th seconds. The film was ISO 50 slide film. The slide was scanned to digital using a Nikon Coolscan IV ED. And there it is, through the miracle of Flickr!

Compare to a similar fish shot on an overcast day with the same equipment, only using f/8.0

Thank you takau99. I see you have some pretty special underwater photos yourself! :-)

Hi Marilyn! Hope the rain stops so you can get back to enjoying your summer. I hear it's the best two weeks of the year in Alberta! LOL. I haven't heard from Ale in a couple of weeks. The last I read, he was away on vacation using his uncle's notebook computer. He'll probably be uploading vacation photos soon, that's my guess.

Your so nice Jan! I'm glad this one caught your fancy. You've inspired me to try my luck at some backyard bugs. I have no idea how I'm doin' yet... darn film cameras!!! If you see some in the coming weeks, you'll know they came out :-D

Thanks CountryGuys! I'm blushing... I see you have some great nature shots, but that circuitboard stingray is top-notch!

    23. cowgirlrightup (71 months ago | reply)

Hi Laszlo.....i see you don't have any new shots so i came back to my fav the Regal Queen. She's a tough one to beat. Love looking at her. Thought you might be on vacation....havn't seen you in awhile. Thanks for your meaningful comment (really liked it) and the invite....thats quite a group....i added it but don't imagine i'll be in that group often. LOL

Wish you and your wife the best!!!!
      Take care my friend.

Hi Marilyn! So nice of you to drop by. ...hardly vacation... a couple of demanding projects at work and home have really tied me up the past several weeks. I've shot quite a few frames this summer, but until I get that digital SLR, I still have to develop and scan to share on flickr (ughhh).

      I'll put up a few oldies I just scanned so that y'all don't think I drowned! :-D
