This picture was taken during our climb up the Ōwakudani. Silvergrass (Miscanthus sinensis) is a grass native to eastern Asia throughout most of China, Japan, and Korea. They are breathtaking to see in person, especially when seeing them under the glistening sun.

This picture was taken in Kiyomizu-dera, an independent Buddhist temple in eastern Kyoto, Japan. These small pieces of wooden boards are engraved with wishes from the local people (or perhaps people from afar). Each one holds a wish from an individual, and are hung within the temple.

Scion pointed out that these wooden boards are called 絵馬(Ema). Thank you for sharing!

This picture was taken at the entrance of Nara Park. The multitude of colors on this tree was simply amazing. It's like Mother Nature's own Christmas Tree! Happy Holidays!

I fell in love with momiji leaves before I even visited Japan. But seeing them in real life was much more inspiring and breathtaking than looking at photos. Therefore, I decided to take a picture of these Japan maple leaves (いろは紅葉) at every main destination. This picture was taken in Tokyo, in a park adjacent to the Tokyo Tower.

This is a self portrait of both of us (Linda and Lawrence). It was taken near the top of Ōwakudani. Apparently, this spot is very popular among tourists and Japanese people, so we had to do a quick snapshot before the line got too long behind us. The people must have been wondering what I was pointing at...and the answer is: Nothing. Lawrence told me to point in that direction so he can 'look over there!'

It was all for the effect of the photo. Shh...
