An old lady scavenges through a bin whilst boys play on their bicycles behind a game of football in the grounds of the Olympic Stadium, Phnom Penh.
The Olympic Stadium, also known as the National Sports Complex, was designed by Cambodia's most noted architect, Vann Molyvann, who was part of the New Khmer Architecture movement of the 1950's and 60's. The building was completed in 1964 and has a capacity of 50,000. Aside from the stadium itself, other facilities include an olympic size swimming pool and huge indoor arena hosting events such as volleyball and khmer boxing. During the Khmer Rouge the stadium was used as a site for executions. Today however, it is a popular and free environment for people to exercise.
