Guinness also had a great time in the snow when we took him to a closed park during the storm last week.

One leg hop

One leg hop

This fox sparrow (Scientific name: Passerella iliaca) spent some time (among its many other bird friends) in my backyard during last week's snow storm. It tried desperately to stay warm as it switched from one leg to the other. One foot warm, one foot cold, switch! One foot cold, one foot warm, switch!....

Spotted towhee

Spotted towhee

This spotted towhee (Scientific name: Pipilo maculatus) romped through our snowy backyard to reach some suet I put on the ground. It was still snowing when I took this picture, so those scratchy lines on its back feathers are actually falling snowflakes.

Playing pool

Playing pool

This pool player is one of only a few full-person neon signs at the Neon Museum's Neon Boneyard (or at least the only one I saw during our walk-thru visit). What attracted me most about this particular player was the plastic toy baseball on the end of the pool stick.
