Self-portrait in a bubble of slime

Taken at the saline graduation tower in Bad Dürkheim. Towers like this have been used for hundreds of years in salt production: salty water trickles down a tower of brushwood and partially evaporates, increasing the concentration of the solution. This hideous green monster was spotted lurking on one of the wooden beams that support the brushwood tower. I made slight adjustments to lighting and contrast, but the colours - whether you believe me or not - are real.
