I've just come back from a week long sailing camp near Brightlingsea on Mersea Island.
In the 30 years the camp has been running this was the worst in terms of sustained high wind and general miserableness - although it did come good by the end of the week.
We had a few false hopes early in the week that a high pressure system would bring better weather - but we did have this wonderful sunset.
I'm struck by how close this looks to a shot I posted last year that is well liked Urban Dawn
I'll sort through the few sailing shots I took later - and post them.
Despite having a camera in a waterproof housing I didn't get many at all. When it was really blowing there were other things to focus on!! One shot I so wish that I'd got was the sight of the four kids I was instructing in two boats in a force 7, gusting 8 (an unexpected squall - or I would not have taken them out) smiling and in full control as they took-off from the crest of a wave on their way back to the safety of the shore!!
