The sign on the bldg points right to the
Greyhound Bus Terminal, which was bet. 7th
& 8th Aves, bet 33rd & 34th Sts. This
location could be Herald Square (or Greeley
Square, which is just south of Herald Sq.)
NOT Times Square. Assuming this route is
Broadway or 6th Ave., heading north, not
south like now.
goggla, I made a mistake, this is Times Square, I saw
another photo that shows the building to be
the Cadillac Hotel (NE corner of 43rd St
& Broadway), it was torn down in the
1940's. It was formerly the Barrett House, a
family-style hotel. The playwright, Eugene
O’Neill was born in a 3rd-floor room in 1888!

I was intrigued by the ad for
"Croquignole ringlets" on the store
at the corner; apparently these were like
Marcel waves. And this is how you got them
(on the sides):
The Hotel Cadillac was renamed the Hotel
Wallick. Behind it is the Hotel Claridge,
formerly the Hotel Rector. Behind it is the
International Casino showing the Wrigley
Spectacular.

That's a fantastic building in the background. Do you happen to know the intersection?

Wow, I'd say the only thing that remains the same is the crowd!
Too bad this place is gone, replaced with all those junky billboards.
