Typical Scafell Pike conditions... by richie@merseyventure.
This is around 3am on Scafell Pike. Visibility is at a maximum of around 10 metres during this group's challenge, in this photo it is down to around 3 metres.

THIS IS NOT UNUSUAL...!

Scafell Pike at night can be very confusing for teams with little navigational experience, so ensure you are very well prepared when you arrive.

You may wish to consider helping Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team who look for lost and injured walkers in this kind of weather..! Please visit our Just Giving webpage at:

If you are taking part in a Three Peaks Challenge during 2009, you may be interested in our Scafell Pike Training Days. Complete Scafell Pike in the daylight (or in the dark) with a qualified and experienced mountain guide.

Walk through the route and learn all of the key navigational locations where teams get lost. Brush up on your map reading skills, and know what to do if you should get lost...!

From just £30 per person, our training days are held over 21st/22nd March 2009.
