One more from my Sequim Lavender Festival Photos. Found this poem on planusa.org, a global partnership to bring hope and help to the world's poorest children.
Like flowers... (Nirupa Deepthi, Grade 10, Sri Lanka)
Children blossom like flowers
Sometimes they are like butterflies
The world is beautiful—when children are happy.
The fragrance of flowers of a tree,
The fragrance of flowers of a creeper,
The fragrance of flowers in a pond,
The fragrance of flowers around the world
Is the fragrance of the innocence of children.
When children grow up,
They need protection
They need the love of their parents,
They need the guidance of their teachers.
When children grow up
In a world full of love and happiness,
When they are protected
Like the apple of the eye
They will conquer the world tomorrow.
