You're onto something here, but it's not quite coming through yet.

This beautiful light painting would look cooler in a derelict warehouse or abandoned factory. I think so.

love the light painting and the sky, but the building on the right is not happening. Try again in a different location . uncool.

A different location and buildings would work better. The comp seems ragged and unsettling.

Fun, but not a keeper. The setting is not doing anything for the light action. uncool.

Fun blog post, thanks for sharing. The concept here is solid, but the long exposure made the shot brighter and duller than it should have been. I like the ones in your blog post that have a darker sky.

The trouble with lightpainting shots is that there are so many good lightpainting shots on Flickr that if you've had any exposure to them, something this simple looks boring by comparison. My lightpainting tip, FWIW, is to try to envision what will look good compositionally before ever releasing the shutter. See it. Plan it out. Try to figure out something that will stand out and practice being precise with the light tools. There are a million photos of people just spinning some lights around, so you have to think "art" and go beyond the norm. Even "chaos" has an aesthetic.

It looks like a prison yard surrounded by glowing razor wire.

Feels empty in the centre, I would rather see just one tunnell heading off on an angle.

What he said when I first saw these type of shots I went seeking them out on here and also went looking for how tos......what is out there is simply mind blowing. That being said I would be happy with this for my first few tries at it but it's not on par with what's out there. Good try tho.

I think this could work well if the light painting was stronger, or perhaps the setting not as prominent.

Aw, bummer! Your photo wasn't cool enough forThe Icebox. Feel free to throw it in the pile with the rest of the melted muck, and better luck with your next submission.
